Austin, Texas – The Women’s Football Foundation (WFF) is proud to announce it will host the inaugural WFF Championship Week later this summer.

WFF Championship Week will be held in Rock Hill, South Carolina and will take place over four days, July 23 - 26, 2014.

In partnership with the Rock Hill/York County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Rock Hill District 3 Stadium will play host to four major IWFL women’s football games as well as several exciting training and educational activities.

“We are very excited to work with the Women’s Football Foundation as the host of our annual championship and bowl games.
Their choice to bring the events to Rock Hill gives us the opportunity to help introduce the sport to a new community as well as be a part of something with a larger impact than a league championship game would normally allow,” said Kezia Disney, IWFL Chief Operating Officer.

Educational events include a coach’s clinic, helmet free tackle clinic, a girl’s U17 tackle football showcase game, and a discussion panel featuring experts in the field of women’s sports and gender studies.

USA Football will conduct a Player Safety Coach Certification clinic as well as oversee a special Football 101 mini camp for girls. The camp and clinic will be lead by USA Football master coaches Anthony Stone and Jimmy Wallace who will share their vast knowledge to make the game Better and Safer.

The week will also feature the first annual Women’s Football Foundation Hall of Fame Banquet to honor our past, present and future stars. Honorees include the legendary Toledo Troopers of the 1970’s era NWFL. The Troopers hold the most championship titles in women’s football history and introduced the idea of women playing tackle football to the world. The Foundation will honor their contribution to the sport alongside other special guests, speakers and award recipients.

WFF Championship Week events will feature the best female football players in North America. From the youth players of Canada’s MGFA to the IWFL All Stars and Champions this event will give fans a rare opportunity to see women’s football at it’s finest.

Check the EVENTS page for details on each day’s exciting activities.
